About The Position
Bauer’s IT is currently looking for an experienced B-Tech Diesel Fleet Mechanic for the San Francisco location. Established over 20 years ago, Bauer's Intelligent Transportation accommodates individuals, corporations, educational facilities, government agencies, and even airports, with one of the largest fleets in America— over 200 employees and 150+ luxury vehicles — from state-of–the- art eco-luxury corporate commuter shuttles to black car & VIP services. Bauer's offers white glove transportation services, providing thousands of people each day with service to and from work and to special venues, working alongside tech tycoons and setting the pace for the transportation industry as a whole.
Requirements
- Diesel Mechanic must have complete working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differentials and other assemblies.
- Must have complete knowledge of how braking systems (hydraulic and air) work on a variety of vehicles.
- Must have complete working knowledge of HVAC systems on a variety of vehicles. (certification)
- Must have complete working knowledge of suspension, electronics, and air systems
- Must have full working knowledge of ADA vehicle operations
- Must have a B license or has committed to taking a class to be completed within a specified time frame to be agreed upon
- Must have 1 plus years of experience in the field
- Must have completion of advanced classes on all major vehicle models in the fleet, required to take 40 hours of online classes as directed per year.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Use gauges, special tools, and specialized electronic equipment to diagnose mechanical failure or problems. Ability to use any maintenance/repair manual, parts catalog and maintenance software.
- Communicate with manufacturer representatives concerning repairs, parts and diagnostic equipment.
- Serve as team lead worker when assigned.
- Job requires mechanic to crawl under buses, stretch and lift heavy objects.
- Disassemble and perform partial or complete overhauls as necessary (Diesel, CNG and Gasoline combustion engines).
