Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in diesel maintenance, repair, and fleet maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Current ASE certifications
  • Current CDL
  • Experience in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) operations
  • Experience managing teams of 15 or more employees
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends) to support a 24/5 shop operation
  • Experience managing a P&L, budget, and large inventories
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, schedule, and develop a team of maintenance employees and contingent workers
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, promotions, and disciplinary decisions
  • Support maintenance operations at outlying service centers
  • Oversee routine and preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
  • Ensure all work orders—including commercial work—are completed accurately and on time
  • Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, and parts movement within established thresholds
  • Analyze trends in parts usage, uptime, non-movement, and productivity to drive efficiency
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality shop environment
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, DOT regulations, and standard work instructions
