About The Position

The Diesel/Auto Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on various equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, fire fans, automobiles, and Diesel Trucks. This role requires knowledge of rebuilding transmissions, rear ends, and motors, encompassing all facets of automotive repair. The position also involves ensuring a safe work environment, complying with company policies, food safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and plant procedures. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, packaging accuracy, and efficient production operations.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid State Driver's License.
  • Motor Vehicle Requirement: 18 years of age, valid state driver's license, and no DUI/DWI’s within the last 12 months.
  • Must have 6 months work history in the last 12 months documented within your application’s work history and/or resume.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed.
  • Must be able to read, write and have a basic knowledge of math with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must have the use of hands, legs, and feet as to be able to work on all equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and handle packaging materials as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior machine operation or food production experience preferred.
  • Experience operating bagging or packaging equipment a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and food safety standards.
