About The Position

The Rotary Die Cutter position is designed to aid the Printing Department with troubleshooting and maintaining existing rotary die cutters within the gable top carton industry. Provide mechanical and technical support to the production departments to achieve their production and quality KPI’s and minimize production downtime. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, use various types of measuring devices to achieve a quality part for production, perform preventative maintenance of rotary die cutters, and troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems reported by production lines. The technician will also be responsible for emergency repairs of production dies, working within the Tool and Die management system to record daily activities, and organizing and completing scheduled PM’s and manufacturing projects. Utilizing troubleshooting techniques and root cause analysis to determine corrective actions on issues with rotary die cutters and associated equipment is essential. Additionally, the role involves training others in the department as necessary to ensure maximized support for production capability and maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Must make an acceptable score on the Ramsey Mechanical testing module
• Past experience in a mechanical field, preferably tool and die making or journeyman machinist (minimum 3 years experience)
• Must have have an aptitude for mathematics, read blueprints, and do precise handwork using measuring precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers
• Ability to define critical steps and deliver finished product
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must pass background and drug screening

Nice To Haves

• Experience in cutting and scoring in the paper industry is preferred.
