Die Setter - Victor - 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Die Setter works with other team members to complete die setups efficiently and safely. The role involves setting up presses and related equipment, verifying setup quality, inspecting parts and materials, maintaining dies, and supporting production quality and operational goals in a general factory environment. This is a regular, permanent position on the third shift, working five eight-hour days from Monday through Friday, with a 60¢ shift premium.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Forklift and crane certified.

Responsibilities

Perform complete die setups according to the setup book, including installing and testing dies; loading press feeders and dereelers; and adjusting guides, fixtures, conveyors, and other press components.
Obtain first-off approval for new setups, accurately measure test pieces, and adjust presses and dies to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Inspect, accept, or reject materials and parts according to work instructions, process books, and procedures.
Inspect and tag dies for cleaning and repair.
Perform die or press corrections when applicable, or contact appropriate support personnel.
Assist in training operators on basic machine operations and quality inspections.
Take responsibility for the quality of produced parts and promptly report nonconforming parts to Quality and the supervisor.
Recommend improvements to products, processes, systems, productivity, and the work environment.
Maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and keep the supervisor informed of conditions in the work area.
Complete scheduled work and tasks within the allotted time, or notify the supervisor if unable to do so.
Record data as appropriate, including classification of FunnelCloud downtime.
Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles.
Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on the Employee Opinion Survey.
