Die Setter - Victor - 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Die Setter works with other team members to complete die setups efficiently and safely. The role performs press and die setup, verifies production quality, supports operators, and contributes to department and plant goals. This is a third-shift position scheduled for five eight-hour days, Monday through Friday, with a $0.60 shift premium. The role is in a general factory environment and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Forklift and crane certified.

Responsibilities

Perform complete die setups according to the setup book, including installing and testing dies, loading press feeders and dereelers, and adjusting guides, fixtures, conveyors, and other press components.
Obtain first-off approval for new setups, measure test pieces accurately, and adjust presses and dies to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Inspect, accept, or reject material and parts according to work instructions, process books, and procedures.
Inspect and tag dies for cleaning and repair.
Perform die or press corrections when applicable, or contact appropriate support personnel.
Assist in training operators on basic machine operations and quality inspections.
Ensure the quality of produced parts and immediately report nonconforming parts to Quality and the supervisor.
Recommend improvements to products, processes, systems, productivity, and the work environment.
Maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and keep the supervisor informed of work-area conditions.
Complete scheduled work and tasks within the allotted time, or notify the supervisor if unable to do so.
Record data as appropriate, including classification of FunnelCloud downtime.
Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles.
Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on the Employee Opinion Survey.
