This role is for a First Shift Die Set Technician / Stamping Press Operator. The individual will maintain the responsibilities and essential functions of a Die Set Technician, possessing complete knowledge of die setting and press parameters. They will be capable of starting the press from a complete shutdown and initiating continuous production runs. The role involves performing quality inspection checks, including First Off/Last Off inspections and all 'Inspection Strategy' procedures. Responsibilities include transporting dies, performing die setups, and changing dies in the transfer press according to the production schedule. The technician will also perform all rail setups, ensuring they are correctly hooked up and functioning. This includes installing, positioning, and aligning dies on the bolster. The role also involves training part packers on their job duties and maximizing each job/die's potential while in the press. The technician will initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through documented team discussions, and participate in improvement events to optimize transfer press utilization. Detailed documentation of all die and/or press issues is required, along with communication of these issues to the Press Improvement Teams. The technician will work closely with the Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die, and Maintenance to optimize press utilization, changeover time, and press/die repairs. Adjustments to grippers, end stops, and coil feed parameters are necessary to minimize press downtime. The role may also include performing small maintenance repairs as needed. Strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, along with maintaining excellent housekeeping habits, is mandatory. Other essential functions may be assigned.
