About The Position

This role is for a Second Shift Die Set Technician / Stamping Press Operator. The individual will maintain the responsibilities and essential functions of a Die Set Technician, possessing complete knowledge of die setting and press parameters. They will be able to start the press from a complete shutdown condition and initiate press production runs to a continuous mode. The role involves performing quality inspection checks, First Off/Last Off inspections, and all 'Inspection Strategy' procedures. Responsibilities include transporting dies, performing die setups, and changing dies in the transfer press according to the production schedule. The technician will also perform all rail setups, ensuring they are correctly hooked up and functioning properly. They will install, position, and align dies on the bolster, and train part packers on their job duties. A key aspect of the role is maximizing each job/die when it is in the press. The technician will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through documented Team discussions and participate in improvement events to optimize transfer press utilization. Detailed documentation of all die and/or press issues is required, along with communication of these issues to the Press Improvement Teams. The role involves close collaboration with the Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die, and Maintenance to optimize press utilization, changeover time, and press/die repairs. Specific tasks include making gripper adjustments, end stop adjustments, and adjusting coil feed parameters to minimize press downtime. The technician will also perform minor maintenance repairs as needed, strictly adhere to all safety regulations, and maintain excellent housekeeping habits. Other essential functions as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

Complete knowledge of die setting.
Complete knowledge of press parameters.
Ability to start the press from a complete shutdown condition.
Ability to initiate press production runs to a continuous mode.
Ability to perform quality inspection checks, First Off/Last Off inspections and all “Inspection Strategy” procedures.
Ability to transport dies, perform die sets up and change dies in transfer press according to the production schedule.
Ability to perform all rail setups, and make sure they are hooked up correctly and working properly.
Ability to install, position, and align dies on the bolster.

Ability to maximize each job/die when it is in the press.

Ability to document all issues with a die and/or press in detail, and communicate those issues to the Press Improvement Teams.

Ability to perform small maintenance repairs, as needed.
Strict adherence to all safety regulations, according to company policy.
Establish and maintain excellent housekeeping habits.
