About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Die Tooling on the 3rd Shift (11pm-7:30am). This role is responsible for supporting progressive metal stamping die preventive maintenance (PMs) and die performance, while effectively communicating with other support areas such as Quality Assurance (QA), Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Requirements

2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology.
1-3 years of on-the-job experience with stamping dies.
Demonstrated skills including self-motivation and good initiative.
Ability to perform pushing and pulling up to 175 lbs., tugging, lifting & carrying up to 75 lbs.
Possess fine motor skills for handling delicate components.
Ability to work with hands.
Ability to perform visual inspection.
Regular verbal/written communication skills.
Positive attitude.
Willingness to learn and work at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and debug progressive dies, including machine operation.
Check production die condition and terminal quality while supporting production.
Perform die disassembly and assembly following applicable work instructions and blueprints.
Conduct overhauls (die preventive maintenance) per training guidelines.
Fit parts and shape die components according to training guidelines, understanding parts mating sections and functions.
Measure dimensions using the appropriate measuring device.
Complete related documentation and checks per training guidelines (wrap-up work).
Maintain good morale related to training and guidance; be proactive in relation to job duties and co-workers.
Utilize grinding equipment and hand tools within training and experience level.
Document and communicate on a daily basis with members of other departments (i.e., QA, MFG, ENG.).
Perform other duties as assigned.
