About The Position

The Die Inspector is responsible for the inspection of every die before it leaves the machine shop. This role involves assembling all dies to make them fully functional, inspecting all required dimensional features with proper equipment, and recording this data electronically. A visual inspection is also performed to ensure all dies meet company standards before shipment to the customer. The incumbent must consider quality, accident prevention, occupational safety, and environmental safety in their work.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to use the most effective and efficient methods to measure each die.
• Ability to select the proper measuring instrument for the feature being measured.
• Ability to dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure it meets all print and customer requirements.
• Ability to enter data in a database.
• Ability to assemble the die after inspection, adding all components specified for that particular die.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and forward-thinking in approaching tasks.
• Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues.
• Strong team player, work ethic, and commitment to excel.
• Quality-focused.
• Ability to stand, walk, or bend.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must wear PPE and hearing protection at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections to ensure dies meet company standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints.

• Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure it meets all print and customer requirements.
• Enter data in a database.
• Assemble the die after inspection, adding all specified components.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
• Consider all interests of quality, accident prevention, occupational safety, and environmental safety in a preventive manner within their scope of responsibility.
• Support the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material, and environment actively.
