About The Position

Sheet fed, Flat bed Die Cutter Operator experience in the folding carton industry is required. This position operates a Die Cutter Machine to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications. The role involves preparing the Die Cutter by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high-quality product by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting. It also includes performing a variety of make-ready tasks for high productivity and precision operations, resolving defects and adjustments to produce a high-quality product. The operator will oversee general technicians working on equipment, make adjustments, clear jams, and maintain speed and quality while processing product. Ensuring efficient and rapid make-ready, with unloading and loading, is also a key aspect of the role. The company emphasizes quality by reviewing jobs for accuracy, ensuring finished products exceed customer expectations, completing all checklists, and supporting ISO standards and quality objectives. Compliance with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody Program Requirements is mandatory. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to OHSE policies, maintaining a clean and safe environment, following all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection, and hazard materials/waste handling, using appropriate PPE, and proper storage and arrangement of the work area. Communication and leadership are also vital, with an expectation to interact respectfully, encourage cooperation, communicate accurate information professionally, accept direction, develop the team, motivate the crew, and conduct team meetings when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Die Cutting experience.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
  • Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Die Cutter machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepare Die Cutter by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting.
  • Perform a variety of make ready tasks for high productivity and precision operations, resolves defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversee General technicians working on equipment.
  • Make adjustments, clear jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
  • Ensure efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.
  • Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy.
  • Makes sure jobs are complete and error free.
  • Ensures finished product exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure all checklists are completed.
  • Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives.
  • Complies with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
  • Ensures complete adherence and compliance to the OHSE policies.
  • Assists team members in maintaining clean and safe environment.
  • Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
  • Follows all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintains and wears proper uniform according to company policy.
  • Use Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.
  • Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
  • Communicates accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist.
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • Develop the team and encourage each member to do what needs to be done, correctly and efficiently. Get it right the first time.
  • Communicates regularly with team toward goals and required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when goals or results are not met.
  • Motivate crew to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provide training as required.
  • Consistently uses appropriate established channels of communication.
  • Conduct team meetings when necessary.
