About The Position

Sheet fed, Flat bed Die Cutter Operator experience in the folding carton industry is required. This role involves operating a Die Cutter Machine to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications. The operator will be responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, and adjusting the machine for optimal performance and quality. Additionally, the role includes overseeing general technicians, making adjustments, clearing jams, and ensuring efficient make-ready processes. Quality assurance is a key component, requiring the operator to review completed jobs for accuracy and ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations. Compliance with ISO standards, cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody Program Requirements is mandatory. The position also emphasizes adherence to OHSE policies, maintaining a safe work environment, proper use of PPE, and correct handling of hazardous materials. Effective communication and leadership are expected to foster a high-performance team environment.

Requirements

  • Sheet fed, Flat bed Die Cutter Operator experience in the folding carton industry is required.
  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Die Cutting experience.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
  • Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Die Cutter machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepare Die Cutter by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting.
  • Perform a variety of make ready tasks for high productivity and precision operations, resolves defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversee General technicians working on equipment.
  • Make adjustments, clear jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
  • Ensure efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.
  • Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy.
  • Make sure jobs are complete and error free.
  • Ensure finished product exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure all checklists are completed.
  • Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives.
  • Comply with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
  • Ensure complete adherence and compliance to the OHSE policies.
  • Assist team members in maintaining clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain and follow all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
  • Follow all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintain and wear proper uniform according to company policy.
  • Use Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.
  • Properly store and arrange work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
  • Interact with the team and co-workers in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation and contributes to excellent performance.
  • Communicate accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist.
  • Accept direction and feedback from supervisor and follow through appropriately.
  • Create and maintain a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.
  • Develop the team and encourage each member to do what needs to be done, correctly and efficiently. Get it right the first time.
