About The Position

The Die Changeover Specialist is responsible for demonstrating proficiency with automatic equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes. This role involves setting, changing, troubleshooting, removing, and installing die sections, as well as cleaning stamping dies. The specialist will proactively apply knowledge to improve equipment and processes, ensuring dies are ready to run as planned and supporting management in planning for potential issues. Attendance at work during regularly scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary, is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous forklift experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Change various components inside the die.
  • Remove and install die sections.
  • Work with T and D for tool sharpening.
  • Troubleshoot forming issues, punch issues, and progression issues.
  • Perform tooling changes according to schedules.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance.
  • Assemble necessary components per documentation to strict, precision tolerances.
  • Verify correct die is used per customer specification, as outlined on work order.
  • Identify and appropriately respond to nonconforming parts.
  • Visually check parts for conformance with quality specified characteristics.
  • Complete Die Set-up check sheets and develop Die process sheets.
  • Provide support for Die Setters as workload allows.
  • Train others as needed.
  • Work with planners and schedulers to make sure the dies are ready to run as planned.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with Management to plan for any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor press, tooling, and secondary systems for proper operation during manufacturing.
  • Attend work during regularly scheduled shifts, including overtime as required.
