About The Position

This role involves performing radiographic procedures, ensuring proper exam protocols are followed, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the work environment. The technologist will also be responsible for patient communication, reviewing processed radiographs, and performing related clerical duties.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
Experience with Radiology Information System, PC, radiographic equipment (i.e. portable/fixed units, c-arms, fluoroscopic equipment), required.

Strong Interpersonal skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Reviews imaging request to determine proper exam protocols. Looks for indications of WET or STAT readings.
Confirms patient identity.
Communicates effectively with patient. Translates examination into layman terms based on professional knowledge.
Performs radiographic procedures.
Reviews processed radiographs in computer system to ensure exam is viewable, anatomically correct, and required identifiers are present.
Documents exam completion in patient medical record.
Maintains cleanliness and safety of exam areas and equipment.
Monitors supply levels and informs supervisor of ordering needs.
Notifies supervisor of any radiographic equipment malfunctions.
May participate in orientation of new Technologists.
Performs related clerical duties including, but not limited to, computer data entry maintaining logs, etc.
