About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Belden Dialysis Center in Canton, OH. Paid Training Provided! The PCTs are responsible for direct patient care, spending the majority of their day in one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time. They monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. PCTs also educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics and work under the supervision of an RN within a cross-functional team of clinicians. The role involves building long-term relationships with patients and contributing to continuous improvement of processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dependable with a great work ethic, adaptable, reliable, friendly and easy going, enthusiastic.
  • Comfortable working with blood and needles.
  • Comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet.
  • Love a fast-paced environment.
  • Looking for a career in dialysis taking care of chronically ill patients.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Spend the majority of the day in direct one-on-one patient care.
  • Care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Measure and record patient stats.
  • Make patient observations.
  • Perform hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients.
  • Test water for chlorine.
  • Check to ensure tools are calibrated.
  • Work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes for patients and teammates.
