About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Canton Dialysis Center in Canton, OH. Paid Training Provided! This position involves direct patient care, spending the majority of the day in one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time. Technician duties include preparing the water room, mixing bicarb, testing water for chlorine, and calibrating tools in the morning. You will monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. This role requires exposure to blood and needles. You will build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment three times a week and educate them on kidney dialysis-related topics. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN within a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dependable with a great work ethic, adaptable, reliable, friendly and easy going, enthusiastic.
  • Comfortable working with blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet.
  • Love a fast-paced environment.
  • Looking for a career in dialysis taking care of chronically ill patients.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities
