About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a senior-level designer to specialize in creating clear, easy-to-understand graphics and diagrams from complex technical concepts. This role involves driving the design process from concept to final visual, ensuring technical accuracy, creativity, and brand alignment. The position is highly collaborative, requiring close partnership with technical writers and designers to enhance the understandability of technical content. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting technical documentation, asking questions, exploring visual solutions, explaining design decisions, and incorporating feedback. This role focuses on creating educational assets with clarity and precision, rather than brand campaigns or marketing visuals. A significant part of the role includes data model design, which requires patience and spatial problem-solving skills to organize disparate data points into a unified, logical structure.

Requirements

5+ years of experience creating technical graphics, diagrams, or visual documentation.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, intuitive visuals.
Sharp eye for detail, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship.
Strong visual problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical accuracy and clarity.
Prioritization of structural logic and clarity over decorative styling.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience creating flowcharts, process diagrams, system diagrams, and other technical illustrations.
Comfort interpreting technical documentation and conducting research to deepen understanding of technical concepts.
Confidence in presenting design decisions, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and incorporating feedback.
Curiosity about AI and interest in using it to find new diagramming possibilities and speed up workflow.
Proactive, organized self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, navigating ambiguity, and driving work independently.
Patience and spatial awareness required to organize large, complex data models into clean, unified structures.
A related technical degree required.

Responsibilities

Break down complex ideas into clear, easy-to-understand graphics and diagrams.
Interpret technical documentation and collaborate with subject matter experts to create accurate and effective visuals.
Design icons, illustrations, flowcharts, system diagrams, data model diagrams, and other technical graphics.
Explore multiple design approaches to find the clearest and most effective way to communicate complex information.
Partner closely with technical writers, product managers, and designers throughout the design process.
Present design concepts, explain your thinking, and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
Manage multiple projects and stakeholders while proactively communicating progress and timelines.
Ensure every deliverable meets brand, accessibility, and documentation standards while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
Continuously help refine visual assets, templates, and diagramming approaches to improve the overall documentation experience.
