We are seeking a Diagnostic Technician to perform accurate and efficient diagnostic work on a wide range of vehicle systems to ensure repairs exceed customer expectations. This role includes diagnosing and resolving complex issues involving emission control systems, electrical and computerized components, drivability problems, transmissions, A/C systems, and four-wheel drive mechanisms. The technician must be proficient in all duties of both Repair and Maintenance Technicians and capable of working independently in various customer locations. Adherence to all safety regulations and proper operation of tools, equipment, and machinery is required at all times. The ideal candidate will demonstrate core behaviors, including drive, a desire to learn, speed of execution, attention to detail, reliability, all of which contribute to delivering the exceptional service our customers expect.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive repair
  • Certified Master Technician with advanced knowledge and skills in automotive maintenance, removal, replacement, and diagnostics.
  • ASE Certifications in one or more of the following areas: Suspension & Steering, Brakes, Heating & Air Conditioning, Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling, Engine Repair, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, Auto Advanced Engine Performance, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Manual Drive Train & Axles
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Subject matter expert in the use of standard automotive diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Subject matter expert of automotive systems and advanced diagnostic and repair techniques.
  • Provides guidance, training, and support to junior technicians and service staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret graphs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicles accurately, efficiently, and with a level of quality that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic and repair work as assigned, including emission control systems, throttle body injection, electrical and computerized vehicle systems, anti-lock brakes, cruise control, drivability issues, transmissions, A/C systems, and four-wheel drive components.
  • Execute all duties of Repair and Maintenance Technician roles as needed to support daily operations.
  • Train and mentor service department team members on vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Assist management with daily operations, including estimating work orders, requisitioning parts, maintaining shop organization, and supervising technicians as needed.
  • Safely operate all machinery, equipment, and diagnostic tools, including scan tools, DSOs, and smoke machines.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to maintain shop efficiency and provide exceptional customer service.
