About The Position
Performs ultrasound procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care. The role reviews exam requests and patient identification, completes imaging exams safely and efficiently, follows prescribed screening and safety standards, and assists with orienting and training new staff. The position is in Vanderbilt Health’s Ultrasound organization at Vanderbilt Wilson Co. Hospital and is scheduled for four 10-hour day shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
Responsibilities
- Review radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective imaging.
- Apply a broad range of skills to complete exams promptly and meet quality and compliance standards.
- Conduct appropriate diagnostic sonographer screening for patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards.
- Assist in orienting and training new staff.
