About The Position

This position is for upcoming diagnostic radiology technologist graduates or recent graduates. The IU Health Talent Acquisition team uses this pipeline to connect graduates with opportunities that best align with their unique skills and interests. The schedule is 7a - 7p, Monday & Tuesday, with no call and holidays required. The role involves operating imaging equipment, preparing and positioning patients, collaborating with radiologists and physicians, following safety protocols, documenting patient history and information in EMR, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures as needed. Requirements

• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
• Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
• Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
• Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
• Follows radiation safety protocols.
• Documents detailed patient history.
• Stays current with continuing education.
• Monitors patients during exam for safety.
• Documents necessary information in EMR.
• Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
