About The Position

This position operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. The technologist prepares patients by explaining the exam and positioning them correctly. They collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging, follow radiation safety protocols, and document detailed patient history. The role requires staying current with continuing education, monitoring patients during exams for safety, and documenting necessary information in the EMR. Assistance with minimally invasive procedures may also be required.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
