About The Position

This is a part-time, evening position for a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist at Methodist Hospital. The shift is Monday and Tuesday from 2pm to 2am. The role requires the ability to independently perform x-rays in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, ER, and surgery. Proficiency with or willingness to train on an O-arm machine is necessary. There is no on-call requirement, but holidays are required. A new hire bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

0-3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable and capable of performing x-rays independently in multiple settings such as outpatient, inpatient, ER, and surgery.
Know how to operate an O-arm machine or be open to training on an O-arm machine.

Responsibilities

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
Follows radiation safety protocols.
Documents detailed patient history.
Stays current with continuing education.
Monitors patients during exam for safety.
Documents necessary information in EMR.
Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
