About The Position

This position is located in Clairsville, OH, near Wheeling, WV. The Belmont County VA Outpatient Clinic provides primary care services including general medical care, physical exams, and laboratory, radiology, dietary, and podiatry services. The Diagnostic Radiologist Technician will provide diagnostic imaging radiologic services in Radiography in a competent and professional manner.

Requirements

Associate's or bachelor's degree from a diagnostic radiologic technology program.
Two years' experience as a diagnostic radiologic technician.
Must be licensed to practice radiography.

Prior VA experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide diagnostic imaging radiologic services in Radiography, in a competent and professional manner assigned by the Supervisor of Medical Imaging Services.
Provide services at dates and times assigned by the Supervisor.
Provide emergency coverage when short-staffed as assigned.
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as Radiologic examinations.
Responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced.
Work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to either diagnose or rule out disease or injury.
Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
Maintaining and operating imaging equipment.
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
Prepares patient for radiological procedures by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into a specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Performs imaging examinations that will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced.
Works closely with radiologists, ordering providers to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries.
