About The Position

The Diagnostic Radiology Clinical Lead is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care throughout the organization. This role involves establishing daily work assignments for technologists, performing safety and equipment inspections, utilizing the Radiology Information Computer System (RICS), providing portable X-ray services, reviewing images for quality, confirming patient identification, coordinating apron/glove inspections, and assisting with supply ordering and budget adherence. The position also requires adherence to Service Excellence Standards, excellent customer relations, courteous communication, teamwork, participation in policy development, assistance with modality protocols, flexibility in scheduling, and attendance at required meetings.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Radiography School
  • 5 plus years radiology experience to include completion of training in Diagnostic Radiology
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment.
  • BLS certified

Responsibilities

  • Establish daily work assignments for technologists.
  • Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department equipment conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform annual equipment inspections and make corrections as dictated by HFAP.
  • Utilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System (RICS).
  • Provide portable X-ray service to all areas of the hospital.
  • Reviews images to ensure good quality and, if necessary, works with technologists to improve image quality.
  • Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients.
  • Coordinate apron/glove inspections as required by HFAP.
  • Assist Radiology Supervisor in monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed, staying within the established expense budget.
  • Adhere to Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
  • Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence with the hospital’s philosophy and policy for promoting positive workplace and customer environments.
  • Work with co-workers as a team to continuously improve work quality.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist Radiology Supervisor with the development of specific modality protocols.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a flexible work schedule to ensure patient care when deemed necessary.
  • Attend required meetings and in-services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
