About The Position

NiteLines USA is seeking a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist for a contract position at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. This role involves providing general and interventional radiology services, including Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med), and Interventional Radiography (IR). The position requires direct patient care, consultation with referring physicians, communication of test results, and participation in administrative duties such as quality improvement meetings and peer reviews. The contract is for one year, with an estimated pay rate of $390.00 per hour (1099).

Requirements

  • Board Certified Radiologist.
  • Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
  • All licenses held must be full and unrestricted.
  • Physician(s) who have or ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered.
  • All licenses held must be current and in good standing.
  • Ability to cover the range of Interventional Radiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility.
  • Standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards.

Responsibilities

  • Providing general and interventional Radiology procedures, including Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med), and Interventional Radiography (IR).
  • Being present on time for any scheduled clinics.
  • Communicating test results for patients receiving care.
  • Providing consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for radiologic procedures.
  • Determining the appropriate course of treatment and communicating in person or by phone with referring clinicians.
  • Providing review of consults/orders and next-day patient cases for a minimum of two hours daily.
  • Providing post-procedure evaluation and follow-up and clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures.
  • Following all established medication policies and procedures.
  • Providing discharge education and follow-up instructions for emergency department patients.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings.
  • Attending staff meetings as required.
  • Performing on-going peer reviews for approximately four hours per month.
  • Preparing for, attending, and taking care of follow-up activities resulting from specialized meetings.
  • Completing the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications, and outcomes of examinations.
  • Following all established patient safety and infection control standards of care.
  • Making every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury.
  • Documenting all events related to patient injury, medication errors, and other breaches of patient safety.
  • Notifying COR of incidents and submitting an entry in the VA Patient Safety Reporting System.
