About The Position

This position is located at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Jacksonville, FL. A recruitment and relocation incentive may be authorized. Advanced In-Hire may be authorized. This is a Civilian Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist position with a salary range up to $72,644 per year. Naval Hospital Jacksonville is a major military medical facility, commissioned on July 1, 1941, and serves active-duty members, families, and retirees. It is located at 2080 Child Street aboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville in Florida. NAS Jacksonville is the largest installation in Navy Region Southeast, occupying over 3,800 acres along the west bank of the St. Johns River. The installation supports numerous aircraft squadrons and operations.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Must possess and maintain American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) (CT) certification.
  • Must have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in 42 CFR Part 75, and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education.
  • Must be certified as radiographers in their field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs computerized axial tomographic scanning of heads and/or bodies.
  • Directs the work of lower graded technologists/technicians when procedures require assistance.
  • Schedules, receives, and reviews requests from physicians and other healthcare providers for examinations.
  • Determines the condition(s) at issue and the procedures and equipment to best meet the needs of the individual case.
  • Monitors equipment status indicators to prevent damage and liaisons with equipment providers, equipment vendors, and equipment maintenance.
  • Starts intravenous fluids and monitors all devices.
  • Assists in the training of other Radiologic Technologists and On the Job Trainees.
  • Assists with after hours inquiries (usually by phone) regarding technical aspects of scans and/or patient care.
