About The Position

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the Program Director. The Clinical Coordinator’s responsibilities include coordination, instruction, and evaluation. The Clinical Coordinator determines student clinical rotation schedules as well as serving as the Clinical faculty for all DMS clinical courses. The Clinical Coordinator bears the primary responsibility for acquiring clinical sites and managing student placement at clinical sites in accordance with clinical affiliation agreements. The Clinical Coordinator also shares graduate job placement responsibilities with the Director of Career Services and as such must regularly coordinate placement efforts with the Career Services department.

Requirements

• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
• Excellent Verbal and Interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
• Bachelor's Degree Required in a related subject area from an accredited college.
• Possess at a minimum the ARDMS credential of RDMS with registries in Abdominal and OB/GYN - must be in good standing.
• Equivalent of four (4) years full-time (at least 35 hours per week) professional experience as a general sonographer.

Nice To Haves

• Additional registries in Vascular Technology (RVT) and/or Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) are preferred - must be in good standing.
• Prior experience working in an educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordination, instruction, and evaluation of students in DMS clinical courses.
• Determine student clinical rotation schedules.
• Serve as Clinical faculty for all DMS clinical courses.
• Acquire clinical sites and manage student placement at clinical sites in accordance with clinical affiliation agreements.
• Share graduate job placement responsibilities with the Director of Career Services and coordinate placement efforts with the Career Services department.
