This is a Talent Pool posting for all Sonographer (Ultrasound) vacancies at UHN, a leading academic medical imaging department in Canada. Requirements

Certification by Sonography Canada, or equivalent based on grandfathering program at the time of sonography regulation in Ontario
CMRITO registration
Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team

Sonography Canada membership
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) and Abdomen (AB) registration

Responsibilities

Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures.
Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results.
Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices.
Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting.
Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required.
Fulfill on-call requirements/obligations, as required.
Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required.
