About The Position

Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Patient Care Personnel (PCP) to support its diagnostic imaging needs. This role will assist with imaging modalities including x-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopy, all under the direction of the clinical manager. AVES is a rapidly growing 24/7/365 veterinary hospital that has recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art 45,000 sq. ft. facility. Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 3 years of experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Aide specialty services in performing cross sectional imaging (CT and MRI); timing based on the needs of the department and patient care.
  • Aide all departments in performing x-rays by collaboration with department leads and reviewing radiology suite scheduler in Ezyvet.
  • Aide specialty services in performing fluoroscopy procedures on an as needed basis.
  • Aide all departments in coordination and restraint for ultrasound.
  • Aide leadership in creation and modifications of SOPs.
  • Provide training to AVES support staff on all imaging modalities on an as needed basis.
  • Run monthly quality control on imaging units (x-ray and CT).
  • Maintain and audit monthly CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets x-ray log.
  • Help maintain inventory for DI needs.
  • Once completion of all DI and inventory responsibilities are maintained, the DI PCP will be assigned to AVES departments on an as needed basis to support patient care needs of the hospital.
