A student or registry-eligible sonographer responsible for performing cardiac ultrasounds in any area of the hospital, including special care units. The position requires willingness to learn cardiovascular procedures as needed and to provide age-appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatric populations. The sonographer must communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients, and visitors. This is classified as a safety-sensitive position. Unity Health states that associates actively using medical marijuana, even with a valid medical marijuana card, are excluded from employment in safety-sensitive positions because impaired performance could harm the health or safety of the associate or others. The role requires maintaining physical and emotional well-being and the ability to work under stress. Physical duties include walking, bending, pushing heavy equipment and wheelchairs, and lifting patients.
