The Diagnostic Assessor evaluates current client and family functioning, explains mental health services, and engages families, youth, and other pertinent agencies. This role involves completing mental health diagnostic assessments, formulating diagnoses according to DSM-5 criteria, and maintaining current knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses to recommend treatment options and levels of care. The position also includes administrative responsibilities such as completing reports and records within required timeframes, responding to communications promptly, attending trainings and meetings, and communicating with other agencies and vendors. The assessor will obtain necessary documents and signatures from parents and clients, summarize major treatment issues and expected outcomes, and recommend case dispositions to OhioGuidestone programs. Client interaction may occur virtually, at OhioGuidestone locations, or in client homes. The role requires maintaining productivity and confidentiality standards, providing available appointment times, and exhibiting positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities. Additionally, the Diagnostic Assessor is expected to demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment, and present the agency positively in all interactions.
