About The Position

Exciting opportunity for an individual to be part of a team working on cutting edge research at the International Diabetes Center (IDC), a world-renowned organization dedicated to providing the best possible care for people with diabetes or who are at risk for diabetes. Will participate in the day-to-day implementation and operation of research studies, conducted by IDC. Responsible for duties assigned which may include data entry, contacting potential study participants, eligibility screening, generation of reports, attending meetings, working with different study teams within the department, supply management and shipping, and preparation of materials for study visits. Requires ability to multi-task and produce results for the supporting department. The ultimate goal for the research intern is to learn from the studies we participate in, gain experience which will help them build their knowledgebase for future education or career goals. Will take work directions from a variety of internal staff.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Strong technical skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills.
Detail-oriented
Able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Willing to learn and be open to suggestions.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to exercise judgment and suggest creative approaches.
Able to work well within a team, as well as work independently and be self-motivated.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, care providers, regulatory entities, and IDC staff.
Flexible in assuming new responsibilities as they arise.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

Nice To Haves

Previous patient care experience, phlebotomy, or research experience
Successful completion of college level general biology or chemistry coursework.
Previous experience with electronic patient care records and electronic clinical databases preferred.
A letter of recommendation is requested with application, or by time of interview. Letters can come from current faculty, advisors, or any other professional reference.
