About The Position

Spirit Clinical Services is seeking a Diabetes Health Educator to deliver face-to-face and online courses to adult patients. The role involves delivering the EMPOWER programme, ensuring it aligns with the curriculum, syllabus, educator handbook, lesson plan, and service operating manual, as well as all Spirit policies and procedures. This is a flexible role for an enthusiastic self-starter who understands the importance of promoting self-care and supporting patients in achieving positive change and improved health outcomes. The role requires travel within Hertfordshire areas to deliver courses in local community settings.

Requirements

Must be based in Hertfordshire areas.
Must own a car.
Must be in possession of a UK driving licence.
Experience in teaching/training adults (clinical/non-clinical educator).
Enthusiastic self-starter.
Understand the importance of promoting self-care.
Ability to support patients in achieving positive change and improved health outcomes.
Work autonomously.
Reliable and punctual.
Confident communicator.
Willingness to make a difference.
High standards and a drive to not settle for 'good enough'.
Comfortable working independently.
Willingness to speak up, ask questions and challenge the status quo.
Thrive on challenge, moving forward, and happy to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland.

No diabetes experience required (full training provided).

Responsibilities

Deliver face-to-face and online courses to adult patients.
Deliver the EMPOWER programme in accordance with the curriculum, syllabus, educator handbook, lesson plan, and service(s) Operating Manual.
Ensure delivery of the EMPOWER programme in accordance with all Spirit policies and procedures.
Travel within the advertised area to deliver face-to-face courses in local community settings.
