About The Position

The Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is an integral member of the Maternal-Fetal (MFM) team, providing comprehensive diabetes education and management for patients with gestational diabetes, pre-gestational diabetes, and other pregnancy-related glucose disorders. Working collaboratively with MFM physicians, the CDCES provides patient education, conducts remote glucose reviews and begins or titrates insulin and oral diabetes medications under approved clinical protocols to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or eligible to obtain certification within one year of employment
  • Minimum of two years of experience in diabetes management or women’s health
  • Knowledge of diabetes management during pregnancy, insulin therapy, glucometer, and CGM interpretation, and patient education.
  • Current Washington State licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), or other healthcare professional eligible for CDCES certification
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) within one year of employment
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics, Endocrinology, or Women’s Health
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record and telehealth
  • Experience managing remote glucose review programs and protocol-driven medication titration
