About The Position

This position is for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) with Princeton Staffing Solutions, a premier personnel services organization established in 2016. The role is a W2 Local or Travel contract opportunity within a public school district in Fairbanks, AK, for the 2026-2027 school year. The DHH Teacher will provide specialized instruction to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing various communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading, and written English, along with assistive technology. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH endorsement
  • Valid State Teaching License with DHH credential or endorsement
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred or required by district
  • Additional requirements per state or school regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a School Based DHH Teacher: Preferred
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using appropriate communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading, and written English.
  • Utilize assistive technology (e.g., hearing aids, FM systems, captioning, visual tools) to support communication and learning.
  • Develop and adapt instructional materials and curricula based on individual student needs, IEP goals, and language abilities.
  • Provide direct and consultative services to students across educational environments (general education, resource, or self-contained).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and other related service providers to ensure access and accommodations.
  • Support students' language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.
  • Advocate for students with hearing impairments to ensure inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations.
  • Maintain documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
