About The Position

The DFW Safety Trainer for Shuttle Buses is a crucial team member dedicated to fostering and maintaining a safety-first culture within shuttle operations at DFW Airport. Reporting directly to the Assistant Safety Manager, this role involves designing and executing comprehensive safety training programs, conducting driver evaluations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Trainer collaborates closely with the Operations and other leadership team members, with an emphasis on supporting afternoon, evening, overnight and weekend operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years in commercial transportation.
• Minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation.
• Familiarity with DOT rules and regulations.
• Understanding of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

• Five (5) years in commercial transportation.
• Three (3) years in a supervisory role within commercial transportation.
• Experience in shuttle operations required.
• Experience in an airport environment.
• Familiarity with telematics systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all employees understand and adhere to the company’s mission, values, and safety practices.
• Facilitate classroom and field training sessions for new hires, emphasizing job responsibilities and safety protocols.
• Assess new hires’ road readiness using criteria established by the Safety Manager.
• Assist in planning and conducting monthly safety training sessions for shuttle operations staff.
• Provide hands-on driving training to ensure employees are operationally competent and safety-focused.
• Perform routine driver evaluations as directed by the Safety Manager, focusing on performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Offer actionable feedback and recommendations to the Safety Manager based on evaluations and field observations.
• Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation to meet regulatory standards.
• Support efforts to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and upkeep of driver DOT files to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify and report potential safety risks or hazards encountered during field operations, working proactively to mitigate them.
• Contribute to the refinement of safety policies and procedures to enhance the safety culture.
• Collaborate on the development and enhancement of the DFW safety training program.
• Assist in creating and implementing safety incentive programs to encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Safety Manager or Shuttle Operations leadership.
