About The Position

Join the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) and help welcome and support new students as they transition to life at Regis University! We are seeking highly motivated Regis students to serve as SOAR Leaders, Executive SOAR Leaders, and SOAR Logistics Team Members. Ideal candidates are responsible, reliable, and eager to develop their leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Be available for SOAR Team training and Orientation Week/Weekend, from August 17th through the start of the academic year on August 24th.
  • Be a continuing Regis University student who will have completed 24 credit hours by May 1, 2026.
  • Be in good judicial standing with the University.
  • Be in good academic standing with the University, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small groups during Starting Out at Regis (SOAR), where you will facilitate discussions, answer questions, and provide support throughout the program.
  • Provide logistical support to ensure the successful implementation of Orientation weekend.
  • Act as a liaison between SOAR Leaders and the Director and Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, communicating important updates, answering questions, and providing leadership when professional staff are unavailable.
  • Guide and support a small group of SOAR Leaders, helping them navigate their roles and ensuring they have the information they need to be successful.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the SOAR schedule, assist with logistics, and serve as a key resource throughout Orientation weekend.
  • Oversee and manage all logistical aspects of Orientation weekend, including setting up and breaking down event spaces, coordinating signage, ensuring sound equipment is functioning, and making sure vendors are properly supported.
  • Work closely with the SOAR Leadership team and other staff members to ensure everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes.
  • Act as a role model, resource, and guide for all incoming students, embodying the values of Regis University’s motto, "How ought we to live."
  • Engage with and provide assistance to students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators in a professional and approachable manner.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Commit to ongoing personal growth, learning, and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, initiative, and active engagement with Regis University and the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership.
