Troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, modify, and install electrical drives and controls, power distribution systems, pneumatic instrumentation, and mechanical systems in a safe manner. This role involves performing tasks such as troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, instrumentation, and control problems, repairing or replacing electrical components, motors, drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (AB PLC 5, 500, 5000, and MicroLogix). It also includes calibration of PID loops, building electrical and pneumatic control panels, replacing and installing lighting fixtures, completing preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, and reporting downtown and mechanical problems. The position also requires training Apprentice E & I technicians as needed, ensuring safe work practices, identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, and suggesting safety improvements. The role ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and using precision measuring instruments. It involves removing defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and completing work orders with detailed information in the maintenance management system. The Maintenance Mechanic controls downtime by informing production workers of maintenance techniques, maintains equipment inventories, and provides mechanical/electrical maintenance information and reports. They maintain continuity among work teams through documentation and communication, and ensure a safe and clean working environment. Active participation in the Intertape Performance System (IPS) and safety audits is also required, along with performing related tasks as requested by the manager.
