About The Position

Under general supervision, operates and maintains densitometer. Interacts with patients, conducts testing, analyzes data, and produces data reports. Responsible for quality control testing and correspondence related to laboratory functions. Ensures confidentiality of patient information by following HIPAA guidelines and organization policies. Attends training to meet job position requirements and as needed or mandated by organization policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I, and other state/federal regulations. Have regular and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Washington State Radiologic Technician license required within 6 months of hire
  • Demonstrates high-technical understanding of clinical indications for exams in order to tailor to appropriate exam performed
  • Demonstrated ability to type and use keyboard
  • Proven excellent customer service skills
  • Proven high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

  • General healthcare experience, willing to train specific imaging functions
  • Knowledgeable and able to interpret T-scores and Z-scores to ensure accuracy of examination
  • Understands human anatomy, DEXA exam techniques and interpretation of data
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnosis inaccurate exam data, software and hardware failures, which eliminate scanning errors

Responsibilities

  • Performs DEXA scans on patients for osteoporosis
  • Proficient at gathering all pertinent patient clinical history for interpreting physician
  • Develops scanning protocols for DEXA exams
  • Maintains DEXA equipment to meet a high level of clinical performance including software upgrades
  • Recognizes inaccurate exam data, software and hardware failures
  • Manages DEXA patient schedule, accommodates emergent exams and add Ons
