About The Position

Talan is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join its GTB Tech Evolution Platform team. The role focuses on building and operating secure, scalable, cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, with an emphasis on AWS/EKS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud automation. The engineer will work with Platform, Security, and Product teams to onboard applications to standardized cloud patterns, improve automation and security, and advance DevOps, SRE, and observability practices.

The position includes designing and operating AWS infrastructure, managing Kubernetes environments, developing deployment automation, and supporting secure identity practices. The engineer will also contribute to platform evolution, service catalog governance, and improvements to reliability, security, efficiency, and developer experience, maintaining clear documentation of platform processes, configurations, and standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a DevSecOps or DevOps Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, ideally including EKS.
• Strong experience with GitHub and GitHub-based development and CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Solid experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments.
• Experience with cloud and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with authentication and IAM, particularly in AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of Amazon CloudWatch and cloud monitoring.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
• A strong security mindset and interest in building reliable, scalable, and well-governed cloud platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Python scripting or automation.
• Experience with Java applications or ecosystems.
• Experience with Dynatrace or other observability platforms.
• Experience with AWS IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA).
• Knowledge of SRE principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS/EKS.
• Lead the onboarding and migration of applications to standardized cloud patterns and platform services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using GitHub.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
• Drive migration from traditional credential-based authentication to AWS IAM/IRSA and secure identity management practices.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes-based environments for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Promote observability and SRE practices, including monitoring, logging, and performance improvements.
• Use monitoring and observability tools such as Amazon CloudWatch and, ideally, Dynatrace.
• Promote automation across infrastructure and application lifecycle management.
• Document platform processes, configurations, and standards.
• Contribute to service catalog ownership and governance.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, and Product teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, resilience, security, and developer experience.
