About The Position

We are seeking a DevSecOps / Data Platform Engineer to support the management, optimization, and scaling of enterprise data platforms and infrastructure. This role focuses on administering data clusters such as Elasticsearch and MongoDB, supporting development teams, and implementing automation and cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in system administration, DevSecOps, and data platform engineering, with hands-on experience managing distributed data systems and supporting modern development environments.

Requirements

• Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph
• Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting
• 7+ years of broad IT experience, including system administration, software engineering, or DevSecOps
• 2+ years of experience managing distributed data platforms such as Elasticsearch or MongoDB
• 3+ years of experience supporting software development teams
• 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments

Nice To Haves

• 15+ years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or similar roles
• Experience managing, upgrading, and scaling Elasticsearch clusters
• Experience managing and scaling MongoDB replica sets
• Experience with Elasticsearch index design, query optimization, and data migration strategies
• Experience implementing MongoDB replication, sharding, and cluster design
• Experience working extensively with JSON data
• Experience implementing AI-based solutions
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and CloudFormation
• Experience supporting security accreditation (A&A) processes

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimize distributed data platforms such as Elasticsearch clusters and MongoDB replica sets
• Support software development teams by providing infrastructure, troubleshooting, and platform support
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements for scalability, reliability, and efficiency
• Design and implement cluster configurations, including replication, sharding, and scaling strategies
• Optimize Elasticsearch index design and query performance
• Perform data migrations and support changes to cluster architecture and sharding strategies
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Work with JSON-based data structures and support data processing workflows
• Support cloud-based infrastructure and automation using tools such as CloudFormation
• Contribute to system security and compliance efforts, including support for A&A processes
