About The Position

Trigger.dev is seeking a San Francisco-based DevRel professional focused entirely on event engagement. This role is dedicated to attending developer events, building relationships, advocating for Trigger.dev, and delivering compelling talks. The primary goal is to increase awareness within the San Francisco developer ecosystem through visible excellence and positive engagement at existing events, securing speaking slots, and potentially organizing or co-hosting events. The emphasis is on organic growth of Trigger.dev mentions through strong community presence, rather than direct product promotion at every interaction.

Requirements

  • Genuine stage presence and charisma (video evidence of speaking, presenting, or performing required).
  • A developer background, ensuring credibility and comfort in technical environments.
  • High self-motivation and the ability to thrive working independently with little day-to-day oversight.
  • Genuine belief in Trigger.dev's mission and product.
  • Based in San Francisco.

Nice To Haves

  • Ex-YC founder status, providing access to YC-only events and community.
  • Existing relationships or audience within the SF/AI developer or founder scene.
  • Previous experience as an early-stage founder.
  • Being early in career and highly self-directed.
  • A track record of speaking at or organizing developer events.
  • A social media presence.

Responsibilities

  • Attend San Francisco developer events, meetups, AI Tinkers, YC events, and conferences to meet developers and build genuine relationships within the SF developer and founder ecosystem.
  • Secure speaking slots at existing events and deliver impactful talks and presentations.
  • Organize Trigger.dev's own events or co-host events with other major tech companies, such as joint hackathons at YC offices.
  • Optionally write blog recaps or produce short YouTube clips of talks as a natural byproduct of the work.
  • Report on activity, including the number of events attended, video of talks given, and a written recap of individuals met.

Benefits

  • Generous, transparent compensation and equity.
  • Async working flexibility.
  • Home office equipment support.
  • Generous vacation (25 days excluding national holidays), sick leave, and parental leave.
  • Annual training budget for learning and development.
  • Pension and 401k contributions.
