The Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer position at ROKO Labs will work side by side with engineering, platform, development, and operations teams and will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and automating build, release, deploy, monitoring, and configuration activities. The Development Operations Engineer is responsible for bridging the gap between development, operations, and infrastructure, all supporting a highly diverse portfolio of client projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or similar functions
• Basic understanding of Agile methodology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to track multiple work streams simultaneously
• Ability to produce technical documentation and architecture diagrams
• Proficiency in English language
• Healthy attitude towards teamwork, knowledge sharing and continuous learning and development
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Experience in working with public cloud platforms P rimarily experience of working with AWS or Azure
• Experience in working with containerized solutions Experience of working with Docker and AWS ECS Fargate
• Experience in working with modern CI/CD tools Experience of working with Jenkins
• Experience in working with Infrastructure as Code Primarily experience of working with Terraform
• Experience of working with scripting languages Experience of working with PowerShell, Groovy and Bash
• Experience in working with databases Experience of working with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB
• Experience in working with VPN solutions Experience of working with OpenPVN
• Experience of working with monitoring solutions Experience of working with NewRelic or CloudWatch
• Experience of working with backup and disaster recovery tools and practices Experience of working with native public cloud platform tools

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of GCP or other public cloud platforms is a welcome plus
• Knowledge of on-premises and private cloud infrastructure technologies like VMware, Nutanix, KVM, OpenStack or Hyper-V are an additional plus
• Experience of working with Kubernetes is a welcome plus
• Knowledge of other public cloud container management solutions is an additional plus
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CircleCI or any other solution is an additional plus
• Knowledge of Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Bicep, ARM etc. is an additional plus
• Knowledge of Ansible is a welcome plus
• Knowledge of Python is an additional plus
• Knowledge of MariaDB, Oracle, HANA and other database technologies are an additional plus
• The level of knowledge is not expected to be on DBA level, but rather infrastructure and operational knowledge
• Knowledge of enterprise VPN solutions is an additional plus
• Knowledge of any other monitoring solution is a welcome plus
• Knowledge of any other 3 rd party backup and disaster recovery tool is an additional plus
• Primarily certification in one of the following: AWS Solutions Architect Associate AWS Solutions Architect Professional AWS Solutions DevOps Engineer Professional HashiCorp Terraform Associate
• Certification in one of the following is an additional plus: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Experience of working on public cloud security assessments and remediation projects
• Experience of working on public cloud migration projects
• Experience of working on public cloud governance projects
• Experience of working on public cloud design and deployment projects
• Experience of working on public cloud assessment and refactoring projects
• Experience of working with data warehouse and analytics platforms like AWS Athena and Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Azure DLS and Synapse, Snowflake etc.
• Experience of working on disaster recovery and business continuity design and implementation projects
