About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 12-month contract opportunity. This role is onsite and involves designing, implementing, and supporting automated software delivery pipelines and enterprise infrastructure within large-scale financial environments. The position requires a blend of strong UNIX/Linux expertise, CI/CD automation, release orchestration, and enterprise application troubleshooting to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure production systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive leadership, take ownership of release processes, and be capable of leading triage and customer support events for multi-tier enterprise Java application architectures.

Requirements

  • Strong UNIX/Linux system administration experience, including infrastructure debugging across single and multi-tier environments
  • Hands-on experience with automated software delivery tools including Jenkins, Ansible Tower, XLRelease (XLR), Jira, Bitbucket, Maven/Ant, and JFrog Artifactory
  • Strong scripting expertise in UNIX Shell, Perl, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience supporting enterprise Java applications and understanding end-to-end application flow
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture and communication protocols (HTTP/S, JSON, XML)
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise releases (50 applications)
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure concepts including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls
  • Good database knowledge with ability to write and execute SQL queries
  • Hands-on exposure to Docker and OpenShift container platforms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to take initiative, operate independently, and lead triage/support events

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, XLRelease (XLR), Ansible Tower, Bitbucket, Maven/Ant, and JFrog Artifactory
  • Lead and support large-scale enterprise releases involving 50 applications across multi-tier architectures
  • Automate software delivery workflows using Jira-integrated pipelines and enterprise automation toolsets
  • Administer and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux operating systems, including system performance tuning, filesystem management, SAN/NAS storage integration, and service debugging
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using UNIX Shell, Perl, and Python to streamline deployments, monitoring, and operational processes
  • Support enterprise Java applications by troubleshooting end-to-end transaction flows, JVM behavior, application server issues, and deployment failures
  • Analyze web application communication protocols including HTTP/S, JSON, and XML to diagnose integration and connectivity issues
  • Implement infrastructure automation using Ansible Tower and XLRelease for repeatable, reliable deployments
  • Manage source control workflows using Bitbucket and support branching strategies for multi-environment releases
  • Support artifact lifecycle management using JFrog Artifactory
  • Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to improve deployment reliability and reduce production incidents
  • Lead production triage events and provide customer-facing support during critical incidents and high-priority releases
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues involving TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls
  • Support containerized workloads using Docker and OpenShift
  • Execute SQL queries to validate deployments, troubleshoot data issues, and support release verification activities
  • Document release procedures, automation improvements, and operational runbooks to enhance team knowledge sharing
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuously improve DevOps processes aligned with Agile software delivery methodology
