DevOps Engineer

Biamp•Beaverton, OR

About The Position

Biamp is bringing a SaaS web application in-house from a third-party development partner and is hiring a DevOps Engineer to lead the technical transition. The engineer will migrate build and deployment pipelines from GitHub Actions to Biamp’s internal Bitbucket and Jenkins environment, then own the resulting CI/CD infrastructure and 24x7 production operations. The role will establish operational patterns for the Software Operations team and has executive visibility as part of a strategic initiative. The position includes responsibility for CI/CD architecture and maintenance, cloud infrastructure as code, production availability and incident response, security and compliance practices, and disaster recovery and business continuity. The engineer will work closely with application teams to create and document workflows that are effective and self-service for developers.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a closely related role, including production responsibility for a SaaS application.
  • Hands-on experience with both GitHub Actions and Jenkins pipelines, including translating workflows between them.
  • Strong Jenkins fundamentals, including pipeline-as-code with Jenkinsfile, shared libraries, and the plugin ecosystem.
  • Comfort with Git workflows and repository management across GitHub and Bitbucket.
  • Working knowledge of a major cloud platform, AWS or Azure, across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or similar.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a comparable language.
  • Experience deploying .NET applications using tools or platforms such as MSBuild, NuGet, IIS, or Kestrel.
  • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience on an on-call rotation, including running or contributing to incident response.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and an outgoing third-party partner.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with JFrog Artifactory, JFrog Xray, or JFrog Advanced Security.
  • Experience with SonarQube or comparable code-quality tooling.
  • Exposure to NIST SSDF, the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
  • Prior experience moving a product from third-party management to in-house operations.
  • Configuration-management experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Application-security tooling experience, including OWASP, SAST/DAST, or vulnerability scanning.
  • Database and data-migration experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with log aggregation and analysis tools such as ELK or Splunk.
  • Experience with CDN configuration, feature flags, or progressive delivery.
  • AWS or Azure certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead migration of build and deployment pipelines from GitHub Actions to Bitbucket and Jenkins, including cutover planning, validation gates, rollback planning, and knowledge transfer from the outgoing partner.
  • Architect and maintain Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, and supporting CI/CD tooling; improve build and deployment times.
  • Own 24x7 production availability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response; define SLOs and SLIs, resolve incidents, and reduce operational toil through automation.
  • Provision and evolve cloud infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools, making changes consistent, repeatable, and reviewable.
  • Develop secure build and artifact-management practices, including signing and provenance, that support security and regulatory commitments.
  • Maintain disaster-recovery and business-continuity plans, conduct DR drills, and meet defined RTO and RPO targets.
  • Partner with application teams to shape developer workflows and document them so new team members can self-serve.
