DevOps Engineer

Biamp•Beaverton, OR

About The Position

Biamp is bringing a SaaS web application in-house from a third-party development partner and is hiring a DevOps Engineer to lead the technical transition. The engineer will migrate build and deployment pipelines from GitHub Actions to Biamp’s internal Bitbucket and Jenkins environment, establish a clear cutover with validation and rollback plans, and capture knowledge from the outgoing partner. After the transition, the role will own the CI/CD infrastructure and 24x7 production operations for the application, setting patterns for the Software Operations team. The initiative has executive visibility as a strategic company effort. The role includes architecting and maintaining Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, and supporting tooling; managing cloud infrastructure through infrastructure as code; and ensuring secure, compliant builds and artifact management. The engineer will also be responsible for monitoring, availability, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Close collaboration with application teams is expected to create efficient development workflows and documentation that enables self-service.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a closely related role, including production responsibility for a SaaS application.
  • Hands-on experience with both GitHub Actions and Jenkins pipelines, including translating workflows between them.
  • Strong Jenkins fundamentals, including Jenkinsfile pipeline-as-code, shared libraries, and the plugin ecosystem.
  • Comfort with Git workflows and repository management across GitHub and Bitbucket.
  • Working knowledge of a major cloud platform, AWS or Azure, across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or similar.
  • Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or comparable languages.
  • Experience deploying .NET applications using technologies such as MSBuild, NuGet, IIS, or Kestrel.
  • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience on an on-call rotation, including running or contributing to incident response.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and an outgoing third-party partner.

  • Architect and maintain Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, and supporting tooling.
  • Continuously improve build and deployment times.

  • Define SLOs and SLIs, drive incidents to resolution, and reduce operational toil through automation.
  • Build and evolve cloud infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools, with repeatable and reviewable changes.
  • Establish secure build and artifact-management practices that support security and regulatory commitments, including signing and provenance.
  • Maintain disaster-recovery and business-continuity plans, run disaster-recovery drills, and meet defined RTO and RPO targets.
