About The Position

Join Cloud Mind, Software Mind’s cloud engineering unit, as a hands-on cloud engineer delivering projects for international clients. Projects may change over time. The current focus is an AWS-first Kubernetes platform using EKS, OpenTofu/Terraform, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, observability, and in-house AI agents for operations. GCP is used on other Cloud Mind projects. The role involves identifying worthwhile problems and taking initiative to solve them. You will run and develop cloud and Kubernetes platforms, build reusable CI/CD components and GitOps deployments, and deploy and operate AI agents. You will help keep production systems running through upgrades, patching, observability, incident response, and cost optimisation; modernise platform standards; and work directly with client engineers to propose and own improvements end-to-end. You may also support GCP workloads as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on DevOps, Cloud, or Platform engineering experience.
  • Strong production-grade AWS experience, including EKS, IAM, VPC and networking, S3, RDS/Aurora, or other managed services.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and Helm, and GitOps using ArgoCD or a similar tool.
  • Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for infrastructure as code.
  • CI/CD experience, preferably with GitLab CI, including building reusable pipelines.
  • Scripting skills in Bash and Python, and solid Linux fundamentals.
  • Experience with observability stacks such as Elastic Stack, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Understanding of AI-agent architectures, such as LLM agents or Amazon Bedrock, at the deployment and operations level.
  • Ownership mindset: able to propose improvements and own changes end-to-end, and to use AI tools responsibly rather than as a substitute for experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English for daily direct contact with client engineers.
  • Proficiency in Polish.

Nice To Haves

  • GCP as a second cloud, including Landing Zone components built with Terraform and CI/CD.
  • GCP networking experience with VPC, VPN, routing, DNS, and hybrid connectivity such as Cloud Interconnect.
  • GCP security and compliance experience with IAM, organisation policies, centralised logging, or regulated industries such as DORA.
  • Experience with GKE and Cloud Monitoring.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Experience with serverless and event-driven AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
  • Supply-chain security experience with SonarQube, Dependency-Track, Trivy, SBOM, or Renovate.
  • Experience with Kubernetes add-ons such as Karpenter, Cilium, Gateway API, or External Secrets.
  • FinOps or cloud cost optimisation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Run and develop AWS and Kubernetes platforms, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, networking, and IAM, using OpenTofu/Terraform.
  • Build and maintain reusable GitLab CI/CD components with security and quality gates, including SonarQube, Trivy, and SBOM capabilities.
  • Implement GitOps deployments with ArgoCD.
  • Deploy, secure, and operate AI agents for operations, including Amazon Bedrock/AgentCore and MCP-based tool access.
  • Maintain production systems through EKS upgrades and patching, observability and alerting, incident response, and cost optimisation.
  • Modernise the platform and define standards for Gateway API, OpenTelemetry, secrets management, and runbooks.
  • Work directly with client engineers to identify problems, propose improvements, and own changes end-to-end.
  • Support GCP workloads, including Landing Zone, networking, and security, on other projects when needed.
