Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience centered deeply in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or complex Build Systems
Verifiable, hands-on experience navigating low-level build environments, specifically Embedded Linux infrastructure
Advanced, practical capability architecting CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code
Built for an active, hands-on technical lead or a Principal/Senior Engineer who loves to code and design systems but is fully ready to take on formal mentorship, daily sprint coaching, and team-management responsibilities
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or SRE roles with a rock-solid, verifiable technical foundation.
Absolute proficiency working directly with complex embedded build ecosystems, paired with strong scripting capabilities.
A deep, applied understanding of modern CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and container deployment mechanics.
A strong desire to lead from the front, focusing heavily on peer code reviews, active technical mentorship, and tactical project delegation rather than hands-off administration.
A stable, progressive work history that demonstrates long-term commitment and reliable organizational growth with past employers.
Residing within a dependable, 45-minute driving radius of the Milwaukee, WI area to easily support the 3-day onsite hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Acting as a working team lead by jumping into the codebase, managing complex automated build architectures, and troubleshooting low-level systems.
Directing daily standups, providing technical coaching, and utilizing clear career-mapping tools to scale the skills of a specialized DevOps team.
Designing and refining robust, next-generation automation strategies for global software delivery and customized Infrastructure as Code script frameworks.
Analyzing real-time build performance metrics and automated testing logs to eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks and optimize compiler efficiency.
Serving as the direct liaison between embedded software divisions, quality assurance, and executive leadership to maintain a highly reliable production stack.
