About The Position

Trellis Society seeks Developmental Wellness Workers to aid our 24/7 Residential and Shelter Programs. Support Workers help clients improve their quality of life and define what success looks like for them. The position involves supporting 24-hour, Recovery-Oriented, and Housing-Focused programs for youth and adults. This position generally requires a 36-hour work week, with either three 12-hour shifts per week or four 9-hour shifts. Mandatory attendance for Monthly Team Meetings is also required.

Requirements

Degree or diploma in Human Services with recent and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn database systems.
Concise and clear communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills.
Experience or in-depth understanding of Recovery-Oriented and Trauma Informed Practices.
Up-to-date Standard First Aid and Level C CPR training.
Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check.
Access to reliable vehicle with a $2M liability insurance and a valid Class 5 Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience with Class 5.

Responsibilities

Provide support to clients who are ending their experience with homelessness.
Support clients in building life skills such as cooking, cleaning, employment, education, and budgeting.
Intervening and de-escalating crisis situations as they occur.
Utilize Recovery-Oriented and Trauma-Informed practices to mitigate client risks.
Act as a liaison between natural supports, families, social workers, doctors, and other professionals involved with clients.
Timely completion of case notes, safety planning, and Reportable Incidents reports.
Plan, implement, and participate in client-driven program activities.
Attend required training opportunities within the appropriate timeframe and monthly team meetings.
Provide transportation to and from appointments, programs, and activities, ensuring safety and punctuality.
Other duties as required.
