About The Position

Developmental Technicians (General Facilities Maintenance) are needed to join Walmart's expanding workforce across local retail stores. This role specializes in General Facilities and Maintenance, contributing to the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of stores, equipment, and fixtures. Working under the guidance of the local Market Manager and team, you will follow established schedules and guidelines, performing inspections, cleaning, and repairs to ensure smooth operations. Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Must maintain an excellent driving record
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass motor vehicle report.
  • 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area OR 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
